January 2007
Archie Cox to Lead Hunter Clinic

Nationally acclaimed rider, trainer, and coach Archie Cox has agreed to be the MHJA’s featured clinician on April 27, 28, and 29 of 2007.

A successful junior rider on the East Coast, in 1992 Archie moved to California to work under Karen Healey (a former MHJA clinician) and then established Brookway Stables at Middle Ranch in Lakeview Terrace, where he trains as many as thirty horses and fifteen students per year. He coached Matthew Sereni, who won the 2003 ASPCA Maclay Finals. For the third year in a row Archie trained the overall grand champion USEF National Junior Hunter Champion, West Coast. The 2006 winner was Lucy Davis on Harmony. Archie has also had numerous winners at all the big shows coast-to-coast, including his own successful rounds on Fenwick.

A highly respected and sought-after clinician, Archie is enthusiastic about traveling to Minnesota. He commented, “Whoever wants to ride with me, send them in. I love to teach!”

This clinic is sponsored by the Minnesota Hunter and Jumper Association for its members. It is open to juniors, amateurs, and professionals. We invite all members not wishing to ride to participate as auditors. More information will follow as the clinic committee establishes location, sessions, and registration requirements.

Save the dates for this clinic and also plan to participate as a rider or auditor at the fall jumper clinic, which will feature former Olympic Gold Medalist Joe Fargis.
